Get a spot-based quote for your gold and coins
Gold jewelry, broken or scrap pieces, US and world coins, and bullion. Tell us what you have, add a few photos, and we'll come back with a quote tied to live spot and confirmed by weighing and testing.
No prices are listed on this page because they change with the market and with your items. You are free to compare our quote with other offers.

How it works in four steps
Submit details and photos
Fill out the short form: item type, rough weight or count, and clear photos of items and any stamps.
Receive a spot-based quote
We reply with a quote based on live spot and the details you gave us. It is not final until items are verified.
Choose mail-in or local
Prefer to ship? We'll send instructions. In Vermont, we can arrange a local meeting instead.
Get paid after verification
Once your items are weighed and tested, we confirm the final figure with you and arrange payment.
How quotes are determined
We don't publish fixed prices or payout percentages, because anyone who does can't honestly stand behind them. Here is what actually drives your number.
1. Live spot price
Gold, silver, platinum and palladium trade continuously. A quote reflects spot at the time it's made, so it can move with the market.
2. Purity and weight
Value comes from the pure metal content: weight multiplied by purity. A stamp is a starting point, and testing confirms it.
3. Item details
Coins can differ from simple melt value depending on type, date and condition. Stones, solder, clasps and non-metal parts are not counted as metal.
Why a quote is only confirmed after testing: photos and stamps can't show true weight or purity. Some pieces are plated, filled, hollow or mismarked. So your first quote is an estimate from the information you provide, and the final figure is confirmed only once items are weighed and tested. If the verified result differs, we'll explain why before anything moves forward. You're never obligated to accept.
Estate and inheritance help
Sorting through a relative's belongings is hard enough. You don't need to know what everything is worth, or even what it is, before you ask. Start with the checklist and send us what you find.
If you're acting for an estate, mention it in the form. Please also follow any instructions from the executor, attorney or other heirs before selling anything.
What to gather
- All jewelry, including single earrings, broken chains and odd pieces
- Coins in albums, tubes, jars, envelopes or safes
- Bars, rounds and anything stamped with a weight or purity
- Any paperwork, appraisals, receipts or collection notes
- Photos of each group, plus close-ups of stamps and dates
- A rough total count or weight if you have a scale
- Authority to sell, if you're handling an estate
Don't clean coins or polish jewelry. Cleaning can reduce collectible value.
Mail-in safety
Sending valuables through the mail takes care. Here is how to keep it safe.
Don't ship yet
Request a quote first. Ship nothing until you've received our mail-in instructions by email.
Insure and track
Use a carrier service that offers tracking and insurance, and declare the value. Keep your receipt and tracking number.
Document everything
Photograph items before packing, list what's in the box, and pack them securely and discreetly.
Before you ship, ask us to confirm in writing how the process works, including what happens if you decline the verified figure. Prefer not to mail? If you're in Vermont, choose the local meeting option on the form.
Frequently asked questions
Can you tell me a price over the phone or by email today?
We can give a spot-based quote once we have your item details and photos. We can't responsibly name a number without them, and any figure is confirmed only after weighing and testing.
Do you pay a percentage of spot?
We don't advertise percentages or guarantee payouts on this page. Your quote will reflect live spot, the metal content of your items, and what we learn in verification.
Is the first quote final?
No. It's a quote based on the information you provide. The final figure is confirmed after your items are weighed and tested. You're not obligated to accept.
Should I compare offers?
Yes. You're free to get quotes from other buyers, and we encourage you to understand how each one is calculated.
I don't know the karat or what I have. Is that okay?
Yes. Send clear photos, including any stamps or marks, and tell us what you know. We'll help work out what's worth sending.
Do you buy gold-plated or costume jewelry?
These usually have little or no precious metal value, so they're generally not worth shipping. Send a photo and we'll say so honestly.
Do I have to mail my items?
No. You can choose a mail-in or, if you're in Vermont, ask for a local meeting. Pick your preference in the form.
Do you buy collectible coins at a premium?
Some coins are worth more than their metal content, depending on type, date and condition. Describe them in the form and we'll let you know how they'd be evaluated. We don't promise a premium in advance.
What happens to my photos and information?
We use them to prepare your quote. See our privacy policy, or email julien@relaycairn.com with questions.
Request my quote
Takes about two minutes. The more detail and the clearer the photos, the better your quote will be. No payment or commitment is required.
Thanks, your request has been received.
We'll review your details and photos and reply by email with a spot-based quote. Keep your items where they are for now, and don't ship anything until you've received our instructions.
Remember: any quote is confirmed only after items are weighed and tested. Questions? julien@relaycairn.com

0. Send the request to the Board and get their written wording
This page cannot send the request or receive the reply for you. Use the buttons below to copy the text or open it as an email draft, address it to the Board yourself, send it, then tick the box in section 4. When the written reply arrives, paste each answer unchanged into the FACTS object in the script at the bottom of this file.
Open as email draft1. Board-confirmed facts status
A fact is shown to visitors only when its value in the FACTS object is non-empty. Paste the Board's exact written wording; do not paraphrase, and do not add price, percentage, "above spot" or speed guarantees. Until the Board's text arrives, leave the field empty. A "REVIEW" flag means the pasted text contains wording (a price, percentage, guarantee or speed claim) that needs a compliance check before it goes live. It is still displayed, because the text must stay unchanged, so decide whether to publish that fact at all.
2. n8n setup for Test B (do this in the workflow, not on this page)
Add an IF node directly after the Webhook node, before any step that stores or forwards the lead:
Condition (String, equals):
Value 1: {{ $json.body.fs_test_case }}
Value 2: B
TRUE branch -> Respond to Webhook
Respond With: JSON
Response Code: 500
Body: {"ok":false}
Headers: Content-Type: application/json
Access-Control-Allow-Origin: (same origin as the success node)
FALSE branch -> existing lead flow -> Respond to Webhook (200, {"ok":true})
If your n8n version exposes form fields at the top level instead of under body, use {{ $json.fs_test_case }}. Routing B before the storage step keeps test B out of the CRM. Make sure the workflow is saved and active, and that the form posts to the production /webhook/ URL (a /webhook-test/ URL only works while the editor is listening).
3. Endpoint tests
In debug mode each submission is tagged: the message starts with "[FS-TEST]" and the fields fs_debug=1 and fs_test_case are added, so test leads are easy to find and delete. No conversion event fires. After each submit the diagnostics line prints a PASS/FAIL verdict, and the tracker below records the latest result for A, B and C. Results and ticks are kept for this browser tab session (per origin), so they survive a reload. Test C runs from a different origin, so its result is recorded in that origin's tab.
- NOT RUN – Test A (success)
- NOT RUN – Test B (failure)
- NOT RUN – Test C (CORS)
- A (success): submit a realistic test lead. Expect HTTP 200, a JSON content type, body
{"ok":true}, the confirmation screen, and in DevTools > Network anAccess-Control-Allow-Originheader on the response (page scripts cannot read that header, so check it by hand). - B (failure): expect a 4xx/5xx status, the error message on the page, and no confirmation screen. If B reports a network/CORS failure instead, the failure response is missing the CORS header.
- C (CORS): submit from an origin not on the allow list (for example open a saved copy of this page from a
file://path or another host while Allowed Origins is set to the real site only). Expect "Network/CORS failure", the error message, and no confirmation. - Delete all [FS-TEST] leads from the CRM afterwards. Search for the exact text "[FS-TEST]" in the message field. Test C in particular may still reach the CRM, because Allowed Origins only controls response headers and does not stop n8n from processing the request.
4. Manual sign-off
Not detectable by the page. Ticks are remembered for this tab session only.
