Mail-in or local Vermont · Buyers anywhere in the US

Sell gold, silver and coins by mail, with every step explained first.

Sending valuables to someone you have never met is a fair thing to worry about. So we start with a free quote request, show you the process before you ship anything, and put the weighing, testing and offer in writing. You are never obligated to send items or to accept an offer.

Quotes are based on live spot price and the details of your items. We do not promise prices before items are inspected.

How mail-in selling works

Five steps, in order. Nothing ships until you have a quote and instructions in hand.

  1. Request a quote

Tell us what you have, roughly how much, and your state. Photos help but are optional. We reply by email with next steps.

  2. Receive packing and insured-shipping instructions

We send guidance on packing and on shipping with tracking and insurance. Whether we supply a prepaid kit, who pays for shipping, and the insurance arrangements Pending confirmation

  3. Inspection and weighing

On arrival we open the package, check contents against your description, then weigh and test each item. Weights and test results are recorded.

  4. Written offer

You receive a written offer based on the spot price and tested content of your items, with the itemized details behind it.

  5. Accept, or have items returned

If you accept, we arrange payment. If you decline, your items go back to you. Payment methods, timing and return-shipping terms Pending confirmation

Prefer to deal in person? A local Vermont option is available; choose it in the form and we will confirm details by email.

How we document everything, and how you can protect yourself

Documented on our side

  • Package opened and contents checked against your description.
  • Each item or lot weighed, with the weight recorded.
  • Metal content tested, with the result recorded.
  • Offer sent in writing with the basis for it.

Business licensing and registrations Pending confirmation We will state them here once verified.

Photograph before you ship

  • Lay items on a plain, light surface in good light.
  • Take a group photo of everything together.
  • Close-ups of hallmarks and stamps (925, STERLING, 10K, 14K, 18K, dates on coins).
  • Photograph the scale showing the weight, if you have one.
  • Photograph the packed box, sealed, with the label visible.
  • Keep the photos and your tracking number.

Packing checklist

  • Make a simple list of what is in the box and keep a copy.
  • Wrap fragile or sharp pieces separately; bag small items and coins so they cannot rub or scatter.
  • Use a sturdy box with padding so nothing shifts. Do not mark the outside as containing valuables.
  • Seal well, and ship with tracking, insurance and a signature on delivery.
  • Keep your receipt and tracking number until the offer is settled.
  • Wait for our reply with instructions before shipping.

How pricing works

Precious metals trade at a spot price that changes through the day. An offer starts from the melt value of the metal in your items, which depends on the weight and purity we confirm. We then offer a percentage of that value. The percentage can vary with the market and with the type and condition of the item.

Weight and purity

Sterling is not pure silver, and 10K, 14K and 18K gold differ in content. We test rather than rely only on markings.

Market movement

Spot moves. Your written offer reflects the market when it is prepared, and we will tell you how long it stands.

Item type

Scrap, flatware, bullion and collectible coins are each handled differently. Non-metal parts such as stones and weighted handles are not counted as metal.

No numbers in advance. We do not publish payout percentages or promise a price before items are inspected. What you get is a written, itemized offer, and you decide whether to accept it.

Frequently asked questions

Is my shipment insured?

You should always ship with tracking and insurance for the full declared value, and keep your receipt. Details on insurance carriers, coverage and who pays for it Pending confirmation We will give these in the instructions we send after your quote request, before you ship anything.

What if I decline the offer?

Your items go back to you; you are not committed by sending them for inspection. Return-shipping terms, including who pays and how it is insured Pending confirmation We will state them in writing before you ship.

How and when do I get paid?

Payment methods and timing Pending confirmation We will not guess at them here. They will be spelled out in your written offer and before you send anything.

Do I need to show ID?

Buyers of precious metals are often required to collect identification and records of a sale. We expect to ask for it. The exact requirements, and how to provide ID for a mail-in sale Pending confirmation

Do I have to ship to get a quote?

No. The quote request is free, and sending items is a separate decision you make after you have our instructions. Photos and an approximate weight help us give you a better sense of what to expect.

Can I sell in person in Vermont instead?

A local Vermont option is available. Choose it in the form and we will follow up by email with details.
